The Knaresborough Tractor Run has raised more than £27,500 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance after a record-breaking number of tractors took part.
Knaresborough Tractor Run raises £27,500 after record-breaking event The initial fundraising total for this year’s Knaresborough Tractor Run has been revealed as a whopping £27,540. The annual event returned to the Harrogate district on Sunday (17th March) as 401 tractors toured the area in convoy. It’s the highest number of tractors that have taken part as the event raised money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. And organisers have said donations are still coming in. The event has now raised more than £140,000 for charity since it was started in 2012. https://twitter.com/your_harrogate/status/1769632128340226357 The convoy started at Harrogate’s Great Yorkshire Showground at 9am before parading to Pateley Bridge via Knaresborough, Burton Leonard, Bishop Monkton, Markington, Sawley and Grantley. Tim Weatherhead, one of the organisers of the Tractor Run, said:
“Thank you to everyone that has supported the event again this year. “The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is such a vital lifeline for everyone in the rural community!”Yorkshire Air Ambulance needs £19,000 per day to keep the two helicopters flying. Tractor Run chairman Steven Brown said:
“It’s just such a brilliant cause and you always say I don’t need the air ambulance, but you never know when you do and it may not be your fault, but in my opinion it’s heavily underfunded and if we can do anything to help, it’s all good.”Those who were not able to make the event can still donate online here. Plus, the official Knaresborough Tractor Run photos have been released by Rachael Fawcett Photography.
