Kevin Sinfield will run through the Harrogate district next week as part of an epic fundraising challenge to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Kevin’s '7 in 7: Together' endurance challenge will see the rugby legend complete seven ultra-marathons in seven days across seven regions.
The 2025 challenge will take place from 1st to 7th December and includes a return to North Yorkshire on the final day.
Kevin and his team will set off from Queen Ethelburga’s College near York on Sunday 7th December before travelling through Green Hammerton, Cattal, Wetherby, Linton, East Rigton and Bardsey.
The route then enters Leeds via Moortown and Meanwood ahead of the final stretch to AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium.
This year’s challenge aims to reach areas that may be overlooked by major fundraising events, with Kevin hoping to show that all parts of the MND community are supported.

Each of the seven days is broken into hourly 7km blocks, with Kevin required to complete each section before the hour ends.
Members of the MND community will once again join him for an Extra Mile event at each location.
The 2025 route will cover East Anglia, Cork, Swansea, Sheffield, Cumbria, Dundee and finally Leeds.
Kevin said:
“It is great to be coming back to Leeds for the first time since 2023. It will be a very special day, especially with us being able to add a mass participation element to the final day with the Santa Dash.
“AMT Headingley holds so many special memories for me and it will be wonderful to arrive into the stadium with our 7 in 7 team and conclude this year’s challenge.”
The challenge will start in Bury St Edmunds in tribute to former Ipswich Town striker Marcus Stewart and includes visits to locations linked with the late Charlie Bird, Paul Darbyshire, Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow.
Six charities will benefit from the week-long effort: the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity’s support for the Rob Burrow Centre, the Irish MND Association, the Darby Rimmer Foundation, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and MND Scotland.
The final day’s arrival into Leeds coincides with the new Leeds Santa Dash at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley campus, where Kevin will set runners off before completing the closing Extra Mile alongside members of the MND community.
The challenge will conclude at AMT Headingley Stadium, where Kevin ended his previous 7 in 7 event in 2023.
