The Town Council presented their first annual report at the annual meeting last week.
The report reflects on Harrogate Town Council's first year since its establishment on 1st April 2025.
It shares the work undertaken to create a new council for the town.
Within the report was achievements such as improved signage, Great British Spring Clean and the 120 events the Mayor (Chris Aldred) attended.
The end of the report saw the introduction of the new mayor, Councillor Viv Poskitt.
She shared her gratitude for her new position saying:
"I am honoured to take on the role as the first female Mayor of Harrogate Town Council and look forward to leading the Council over the coming year as it continues to develop.
"I am keen to raise the profile of the Town Council and strengthen engagement with local businesses, the voluntary sector and the wider community.
"As a new Council, we will continue to build on our responsibilities and work collaboratively to identify local needs and opportunities.
"I am committed to being an active and visible Mayor, supporting community initiatives and promoting wellbeing across the town, alongside encouraging more sustainable ways of getting around".
The council shared their appreciation on social media saying:
"We would like to thank everyone who has supported the Council during its inaugural year and look forward to building on these foundations in the years ahead"
