A 15-year-old girl from Harrogate has qualified for this year’s CrossFit Games after finishing among the top 20 teenage athletes in the world.
Ella Henrey, named the British weightlifting Under-15 Champion in her weight category last year, will travel to San Jose in California next month.
The prestigious competition is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the CrossFit calendar.
The qualification process saw more than 1,000 girls aged 14 and 15 enter the opening round, with athletes progressing through three stages of competition.

Only the top 20 competitors earned an invitation to the Games.
Ella secured her place after completing five demanding CrossFit semi-final workouts over the course of a single weekend.
The achievement came while she was also preparing for and sitting her GCSE examinations.
Her qualification places her among the top teenage CrossFit athletes in the world and marks another milestone in her sporting career.
