Harrogate’s branch of the RSPCA is searching for the forever homes for eight rescued German Shepherd puppies.
Harrogate RSPCA looking to rehome eight rescued puppies Harrogate’s branch of the RSPCA is searching for the forever homes for eight rescued puppies. A litter of 11 German Shepherd cross-breeds were taken to RSPCA York, Harrogate and district branch by an RSPCA inspector after they were found to be living in an environment where their needs were not being met. They are aged around 9 weeks-old and three boys and five girls are now available for adoption - along with their mum Suki, aged around three. Two of the other pups, Kip and Carly, have been reserved and Shania has been adopted. Suki was incredibly thin when she was rescued, but despite this she successfully reared her litter of healthy puppies. Ruth McCabe, Animal Centre Manager, said:
“Suki is now ready to find her very own loving family - a family who will love and cherish her for the rest of her life. “She is a very active girl who absolutely loves being out and about enjoying her new found freedom. “She is very friendly and just loves to be around her people, she will need someone who is at home most of the time while she settles into family life.”Her offspring have been described by staff as “lovely, cheeky, playful and friendly” puppies. The puppies available for a new home are males Jonny, Luke and Morgan along with females Kelsea, Dolly, Gabby, Taylor and Kacey. Staff are looking for homes where the adopters will be at home most of the time while they are still young and they can live with children over six years-old. Ruth added:
“Applications to adopt are generally down at the moment and it is such a shame as we have so many gorgeous dogs looking for their forever home who would make wonderful companions.”Among other dogs at the branch in search of a new owner is Hedgehog, aged 14 months. He is described as a “sweet but shy boy”, but “super-friendly” once he gets to know you. He was taken to the branch by an RSPCA inspector and lacks confidence having missed out on so much as a puppy. Barney is another character who was found as an injured stray and his leg was in such an horrific state it needed amputating. But Barney, aged two, is a typical lurcher who loves long walks and being sociable.
