Harrogate Cat Rescue has received a three-tonne donation of cat food – enough to feed 80 cats for an entire year.
Yorkshire-founded Hurayra Pet Food has made the donation as part of its ongoing support for the local rescue, which cares for vulnerable cats from Harrogate and the surrounding area.
The donation is expected to significantly reduce one of the charity’s biggest day-to-day costs, allowing more of its funds to be spent on veterinary treatment, shelter and rehabilitation.
Hurayra, which launched last year, has worked with Harrogate Cat Rescue throughout the past 12 months and also supports other cat shelters across the UK.

Hurayra produces natural cat food which is free from fillers including wheat, grain and artificial additives.
The company also allows customers to purchase food packages at a reduced rate to be donated directly to a cat shelter of their choice.

The donation comes during a period of expansion for Hurayra, which is adding wet food to its existing dry cat food range.
The Yorkshire business is also developing distribution plans for the USA alongside further expansion into Asian and European markets.
Hurayra products are available through the company's website and in selected Morrisons stores nationwide, while customers can also donate food directly to Harrogate Cat Rescue through Hurayra.
