Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland returns for 21st season

Yorkshire Winter Wonderland is back in November.

Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland will return to York this November after welcoming more than one million skaters over the past two decades.

The festive attraction will open at Designer Outlet York on Friday 13th November and run until Sunday 3rd January 2027.

It features what organisers describe as the largest outdoor ice rink in the north of England, measuring 975 square metres and centred around a 30ft Christmas tree.

This year, the rink will have a new illuminated woodland backdrop featuring giant trees, colourful neon ropes and glowing Christmas baubles.

A redesigned Alpine Chalet will include an evening bar and performance stage hosting live music and themed events throughout the seven-week season.

An outdoor marshmallow pit with a real fire will also be introduced.

Other attractions will include Santa’s Grotto and a funfair featuring the Waltzer, Miami, Twister and vintage Brooklands Dodgems.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland will be open every day except Christmas Day, with 11 skating sessions available each day.

“Every year we get excited about bringing York’s favourite Christmas event back to the Designer Outlet and unveiling our new ideas and festive touches.

“This season promises to be as colourful as ever, and our new-look Chalet with its live music and theme nights will bring a new buzz to the event.

“Not only do we offer great winter exercise and fun for all the family, but with free parking and superb shopping, Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland makes a great day – and evening – out!”

Tickets for a 45-minute skating session cost £16.45 for adults and £15.45 for children and concessions.

A 20% early booking discount is available until Wednesday 30th September using the code SKATE20.

Admission to Santa’s Grotto costs £7 per child, while tokens for the funfair can be purchased at the event.
