Police have released footage of a motorist pulling across the path of two HGVs while travelling at more than 90mph near Boroughbridge.
The manoeuvre was captured by a North Yorkshire Police safety camera vehicle on the A1(M) at Junction 48 on 9th January this year.
The driver pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and speeding.
He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay more than £850 in fines and costs at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 30th September.
Following the hearing, Richard Fletcher, from North Yorkshire Police, said:
“The consequences of this driving could have been extremely serious.
"Our safety camera vehicles can capture offences like this, ensuring that drivers who put others at risk are held to account for their actions.”
