Police have reissued an appeal to locate a wanted Lincolnshire man last seen in Harrogate.
57-year-old James Joseph Smyth is wanted for having absconded from North Sea Camp in Freiston, Boston.
He failed to return at 2pm on Tuesday 30th April following an agreed temporary release.
He was seen just after 7.30am that morning, walking along the river in the direction of York city centre - but police believe he may have been seen in Harrogate on 1st May.
Description
James is described as white, 6ft,1in, of slim build and around 64kg. He has long grey-brown hair (occasionally worn in a top knot), a long grey beard and moustache, and green eyes.
He has a scar on his nose and left eye lid. He also has a distinctive tattoo on his left wrist with the words ‘Daniel’ and ‘Tracey’, as well as a tattoo of a devil on his right shoulder. He sometimes wears glasses.
Smyth is serving a sentence for GBH and robbery.
Detective Inspector Mel Rooke said:
“We are appealing for help to locate James Joseph Smyth who is wanted for absconding from North Sea Camp yesterday evening.
"He is known to have connections with the Leeds, West Yorkshire, area.”
