Volunteers create new woodland play area for Knaresborough primary school A team of volunteers have grouped together to create a new woodland play area for St Mary’s Primary School. Pupils now have an outdoor classroom in the school's woodland area following the DIY project over the weekend. Parents and other volunteers from Friends of Saint Mary’s (FOSM) have created several wooded structures alongside tyres filled with plants. A spokesperson for FOSM said:
“We’ve had our very own Woodland DIY SOS team this weekend! Thank you to everyone that helped created these magical new areas in our woodland. “In particular huge thanks to Claire Watson and for her passion that made this happen and massive thanks to the Dad man power of Rick, Dan, Oli, Mike, Anthony and Steve.”The project was funded by donations collated by FOSM, whilst Travis Perkins donated all the wood and nails. The group is now fundraising and collecting donations for items that can be used to populate the new area. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
