Trio of charities to champion community spirit at Great Yorkshire Show

Liz Cluderay, CEO of Artizan, Sue Cawthray, Consultant at Harrogate Neighbours, Helena Evans, CEO at Harrogate Neighbours, Louise Terzza, CEO of Time Together.

Three of Harrogate's best-known charities with deep roots in the town, are joining forces at this year's Great Yorkshire Show to showcase collaboration and celebrate the power of community.

Rather than exhibiting separately, Harrogate Neighbours, Artizan and Time Together will share a stand throughout the Show, showcasing the impact of partnership working while raising awareness of the vital services each organisation provides across the district.

Throughout the week, each charity will take the lead on a dedicated day, giving visitors the opportunity to meet staff and volunteers, learn about their work and discover how local charities are creating stronger, more connected communities by working together.

Not-for-profit care provider, Harrogate Neighbours, will provide information on the care and community services it provides for older and vulnerable people, including residential care, extra care housing, home support, day care, Meals on Wheels and its Community Hub.

Artizan will offer details on the accessible opportunities it creates through inclusive arts, enterprise and hospitality, helping disabled people gain skills, reduce isolation and showcase their talents.

Time Together will share information on the support it provides for disabled and autistic people and those with learning disabilities to live independently, improve wellbeing and build meaningful community connections.

The organisations say the joint presence at one of Yorkshire's largest public events sends an important message about the value of collaboration at a time when demand for voluntary sector services continues to grow.

Helena Evans, CEO at Harrogate Neighbours said:

"The opportunity to partner with our charity friends to create opportunities and visibility like this for us all is incredibly exciting.

“We're hopeful that more charities and community groups see the benefit of meaningful collaboration because, when we work together, we can reach more people, share more stories and strengthen the support available across our community."

Liz Cluderay, Chief Executive of Artizan, added:

"This is a brilliant example of what can happen when local organisations come together with a shared purpose.

“The Great Yorkshire Show gives us an incredible platform to celebrate the talents, skills and contributions of the people we support, while also showing the wider community how inclusive, creative and collaborative Harrogate can be."

Louise Terzza, Chief Executive of Time Together, said:

“Strong communities are built on strong partnerships. Collaboration doesn't have to be complicated, it's simply about charities being willing to share knowledge, skills and resources.

"When we come together with a shared purpose we create something greater than the sum of our individual efforts, delivering wider impact for the people and communities we all exist to serve.”

With more than 140,000 people expected, the show is one of the region's biggest events which provides an ideal opportunity for the charities to engage with show goers and meet potential volunteers and supporters.

The stand will be staffed throughout the Show by representatives from all three charities.

People are being encouraged to visit the stand to learn more about the services available across Harrogate, and to find out how they can support or become involved with their local community organisations.
