Thousands set to flock to Harrogate for Spring Flower Show

Harrogate's Spring Flower Show starts this week with the theme 'Let Us Entertain You'.

Organisers of the Harrogate Spring Flower Show are preparing to welcome thousands of visitors this week as the show returns.

The event is being held at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre from Thursday 23rd – Sunday 26th April, with a vibrant celebration of the new gardening season.

Staged by the North of England Horticultural Society, the four-day event showcases the very best in horticulture, combining stunning floral displays, inspiring garden features, expert talks and hands-on activities designed to delight gardeners of all ages.

Harrogate Flower Shows Director Nick Smith said:

“We’re thrilled to launch this year’s Spring Flower Show with such a visually exciting and imaginative photo call.

“‘Let Us Entertain You’ perfectly captures the sense of fun and creativity we want visitors to experience throughout the show.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors for four fantastic days celebrating the very best of spring gardening.”

This year’s show bursts into life with a spectacular press photo call on staging day, bringing the theme ‘Let Us Entertain You’ to centre stage in a riot of colour, creativity and performance.

Taking a starring role in the display is aerialist Natalie Leworthy of Urban Circus, Harrogate - a studio specialising in aerial performance and physical theatre - who performs high above the ground, suspended on a hoop and adorned with a breathtaking arrangement of fresh seasonal flowers.

The floral elements of the costume were created by award-winning Harrogate-based florist Helen James.

Visitors can explore beautiful show gardens, spectacular floral displays in the Grand Floral Hall, and extensive plant shopping opportunities featuring leading nurseries and growers from across the UK.

The show also offers a full programme of live demonstrations, expert gardening advice and interactive experiences for budding gardeners.

Available to buy at www.flowershow.org.uk, or on the gate each day of the show.
