Support needed for Harrogate's first dedicated youth basketball club

Harrogate Marshalls is the town's first dedicated youth basketball club.

Local businesses are being invited to support Harrogate's first dedicated youth basketball club.

Harrogate Marshalls has been created to give children and young people more opportunities to play basketball locally, develop their skills and become part of a positive team environment.

As the new programme gets underway, the club is looking to establish partnerships with businesses across the town.

Support could include sponsoring a team, providing equipment or becoming a wider community partner, with opportunities available to suit different budgets.

Money raised through sponsorship will help fund coaching, equipment and facilities while keeping basketball affordable for local families.

Lithgow Perkins is among the first businesses to support the programme.

Stuart Abbott, Partner at Lithgow Perkins, said:

“The project sounds incredibly promising, and we’re delighted to be able to offer our support.

“We hope that our involvement can help the academy grow and provide even more opportunities for young people to get involved in basketball.

“It’s a sport I’ve always followed and enjoyed, so I’m particularly pleased to see an initiative that aims to introduce more young people to the game and encourage them to be part of it.”

The club is inviting both independent businesses and larger organisations to discuss its sponsorship packages or suggest bespoke partnerships.

Businesses interested in supporting Harrogate Marshalls can email harrogatemarshallsbasketball@gmail.com.
