Little Birds Artisan Market was set to take place in Knaresborough this Saturday.
This weekend’s Little Bird Artisan Market in Knaresborough has been cancelled due to safety concerns caused by strong winds linked to Storm Amy.
Storm Amy is expected to bring very strong winds and periods of heavy rain to the region.
The Met Office has forecast gusts of around 50 to 60 mph in many areas and in Harrogate and Knaresborough wind gusts of up to 22 mph are forecasted.
The market, which usually takes place in the town centre on the third Saturday of the month, features a wide range of independent traders offering local produce, crafts, street food, gifts, and handmade goods.
It has become a regular attraction, drawing both residents and visitors to Knaresborough to enjoy a mix of stalls, live demonstrations and community spirit.
Organisers said the decision to cancel was not taken lightly, as they recognise the impact it has on stallholders who rely on the event for business.
A spokesperson explained:
“We have had to make the difficult decision to cancel Saturday's Artisan Market at Knaresborough.
"This is not a decision we take lightly, as this impacts our traders' businesses.
"However, safety must always come first for our customers, traders, and staff.
"Thank you for understanding and all your support.”
The market is set to return on Saturday, 1st November, with organisers hoping for calmer conditions and looking forward to welcoming visitors back to enjoy the usual showcase of local talent and produce.
