Ripon attractions unite to support second term for Ripon BID

Ripon BID Manager Lilla Bathurst alongside North Yorkshire Mayor David Skaith.

Some of Ripon’s most iconic and cherished attractions have come together to publicly support a second term for Ripon BID (Business Improvement District).

Local hotspots including Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, Lightwater Valley, Ripon Races, Ripon Museums, Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park, Grantley Hall, The Old Deanery and Ripon Cathedral have all backed the BID to continue for a second term.

This unified show of support comes as the success of the Visit Ripon Group, coordinated by Ripon BID, continues to grow, with the www.visitripon.co.uk website becoming a key destination hub for visitors planning trips to the area.

Stuart Gill, of Newby hall and Chairman of the Visit Ripon Group, said:

"Ripon BID has brought our attractions together like never before. Through their strategic coordination, the VisitRipon.co.uk platform has become an outstanding digital showcase for Ripon — giving visitors a clear, exciting, and easy way to explore all that our historic city and surrounding area have to offer."

Since its launch, VisitRipon.co.uk has served as a one-stop platform for event listings, ticketing links, seasonal guides, and inspiring content that drives visitor engagement across all seasons.

The collaboration between leading attractions under the Visit Ripon Group, facilitated by Ripon BID, has created joint campaigns, cross-promotion, and a stronger, united voice in the tourism landscape of North Yorkshire.

Another representative said:

“The first BID term has delivered real value — not just to businesses, but to the profile of Ripon as a destination.

“From improved signage and marketing campaigns to group tourism initiatives and increased footfall, Ripon BID has proven its ability to deliver.”

The group credits Ripon BID’s professionalism, responsiveness, and long-term vision for fostering a collaborative environment that benefits the entire visitor economy.

The clear branding and cohesive marketing of Visit Ripon has brought national attention and new visitors to the city — and the results are visible in rising ticket sales, packed event calendars, and increased local pride.

As the BID enters its renewal phase, the Visit Ripon Group is voicing a wholehearted endorsement for a second term:

“We stand united in our belief that a second term for Ripon BID is essential to building on this momentum. The foundations are strong, the partnerships are working, and the results speak for themselves. With continued investment, Ripon will thrive as a premier destination for years to come.”
