A man and a woman have been arrested following a suspected '2-in-1 burglary' in Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police received a report shortly after 10am on Sunday (8th June) of a burglary at a property in the Dene Park area of Bilton.
Offenders are believed to have gained entry to the home through a downstairs window sometime between 7am and 10am.
Keys, a vehicle logbook and an MOT certificate were stolen, along with a white Ford Transit van that had been parked outside the property.
Later the same day, the stolen van was spotted in the Starbeck area of Harrogate thanks to the vigilance of a local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).
Following CCTV enquiries and further investigations, officers arrested a 39-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman on suspicion of burglary.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and in connection with a second burglary at a retail premises.
Both suspects remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson said:
