North Yorkshire Council has approved renovation plans at Gareth Southgate’s £3m mansion near Harrogate.
The Grade I listed property, named ‘Swinsty Hall’, is located at Swinsty Reservoir near Harrogate and boasts around 4.5 acres of land.
It has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, and also includes a wine cellar and cinema room.
Ex-England manager Gareth plans to install a new septic tank treatment plant and rebuild a stone wall along the property’s boundary.
Approval was given by the council on 2nd October.
Planning documents read:
“A section of the dry stone wall which runs around the domestic curtilage Swinsty Hall will be dismantled and re-built as part of the installation.
"It is noted that the section of wall is considered to be curtilage listed.
"The council's conservation officer noted that the works will not result in a harmful impact to the wall and consequently the setting of the Grade I listed building.
"Overall, the proposal presents no loss or significant harm to the designated heritage assets of the listed building.
“It would preserve the character of the building and its setting, with no adverse impact on any features of special architectural or historic interest which it possesses, in line with the guidance above."
Gareth Southgate resigned from his role as England boss in July following their Euro 2024 campaign.
He has ruled out a return to management in the near future.
