Young players from Pannal Sports Junior FC enjoyed a matchday to remember after winning a competition that saw them step onto the pitch at a Manchester City Women fixture.
Members of the club’s Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10 girls’ teams travelled to the Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City Women and Chelsea Women.
And the occasion was made even more special by a surprise announcement from one of their coaches, Susannah Ross-Thriepland.
She revealed that the teams had been entered into a competition offering a pitchside photo opportunity with Manchester City players wearing their official kits.
The team was successful in the competition, allowing the young players to take part in the on-pitch experience before kick-off.
The group then watched the match, which was won by Manchester City, rounding off what was described as an exciting and memorable day for the players.
The trip was supported by Harrogate Denture Clinic, a sponsor of Pannal Sports Junior FC.
A spokesperson for the clinic said:
“At Harrogate Denture Clinic, we’re incredibly proud to sponsor Pannal Sports Junior FC.
“Supporting local teams, building confidence in young people, and investing in our community is at the heart of what we do, both in and out of the clinic.”
