Pannal Cricket Club has unveiled brand new nets after raising nearly £20,000 through a Crowdfunding campaign.
The club was also able to secure funding from sponsors and the UCB to secure the nets at a cost of around £50,000.
A grand opening event was held this evening (Friday), with the first ball bowled by 16-year-old Matt Furbank - an ex-junior who is now put of the Yorkshire academy.
The event was attended by around 150 people.
Andy Herridge, Co-Chair of Pannal Cricket Club, said:
“The new nets have been a couple of years in the making.
"We were desperately in need of them - our old nets were damaged during the strong winds last Winter.”

Pannal CC have been playing cricket in and around the village of Pannal since 1874.
Andy added:
“Everyone has pulled together. The club is absolutely amazing.
“We have some amazing volunteers at the club, which is completely volunteer-lead. The members and sponsors have all been fantastic.”
Pannal Cricket Club has around 300 members across its junior and senior teams.
But it costs around £25,000 per year to keep the club running.
