A newly transformed outdoor space has been officially unveiled at Ripon Community House (RCH).
The fully accessible garden has been designed to serve the local community.
The project has turned a previously neglected outdoor area into a welcoming and inclusive garden, complete with raised planters, smart pathways and seating designed to encourage visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy time outside.
The garden’s transformation was enabled through a grant from Morrisons Foundation, along with substantial volunteer support from local businesses including Econ Engineering, A1 Truck & Plant Hire and Ripon Men’s Shed.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by Stuart Martin of Ripon Community Poppy Project, alongside Valeria Sykes, owner of Grantley Hall, and Angela Stennet, Morrisons Community Champion.
A spokesperson for Ripon Community House said:
“Our garden at Ripon Community House has been a labour of love, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
“Every volunteer, visitor, and supporter has helped us create spaces where our community can come together, learn, and enjoy the outdoors.
“This transformation is a reminder that community isn’t just built inside the walls - it grows in every corner we nurture together.
“Thank you for being part of our journey – follow us to see how your support continues to shape Ripon Community House.”
The garden is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring firm, level surfaces and raised planting beds which make it easier for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility to participate.

The space is intended not only for relaxation but also for community activities and informal gatherings.
The new garden is described as “just the beginning,” with plans to continue adding new plants, displays and community-led enhancements over time.
