There are now just two weeks left to nominate someone for this year's 2026 Local Hero Awards.
Nominations remain open for the awards, organised by Your Harrogate in partnership with Harrogate Town AFC, which celebrate the remarkable individuals and groups who make a difference across the Harrogate district.
The awards will return for their fourth year on Friday 8th May at Rudding Park Hotel, bringing together the community for an evening recognising inspiring local people.
There are 14 categories in total, highlighting everything from fundraising and volunteering to acts of bravery and outstanding community achievements that often go unnoticed.
Main sponsor O’Connor Chiropractic, run by Jason and Debbie O’Connor, is continuing its long-standing support of the event.
Nominations will close on Saturday 22nd March, with judging scheduled to take place on the 24th and 25th March ahead of the ceremony in May.
Sarah Barry, Chief Executive of Harrogate Town AFC and Trustee of the Harrogate Town Community Foundation, said the awards are an important opportunity to recognise the people who go above and beyond in the community.
She said:
“These awards shine a spotlight on the incredible people and organisations that make our district such a special place.
“Every year we hear powerful stories of kindness, dedication and resilience, and we’re proud to help celebrate those who give so much to others.”
Adam Daniel, Managing Director of Your Harrogate, added:
“We know there are countless people across the Harrogate district quietly doing amazing things for others, and the Local Hero Awards are all about giving them the recognition they deserve.
“With just two weeks left to nominate, now is the perfect time to tell us about someone who’s made a real difference in your community.”
Award and co-sponsors for the 2026 Local Hero Awards include Barclay LED Solutions, David Lloyd Clubs (Harrogate), Divert Waste Management, EnviroVent (Harrogate), Haddletons Solicitors, Harrogate BID, Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce, Harrogate Neighbours, Harrogate Theatre, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, The Turkish Baths Harrogate and Verity Frearson Estate Agents.
Residents can nominate a local hero before the 22nd March deadline here.
