Harrogate weightlifter Lottie McGuinness secured a bronze medal at the European Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia yesterday (Sunday).
The 24-year-old stepped onto the podium after a strong performance in the 'Women's Up to 61kg' category, which brought together some of Europe’s top lifters.
Gold was claimed by Besra Duman of Turkey, whilst Silver was won by Tamara Podpalnaya of Russia.

Lottie represented Great Britain at the championships and competed on International Women's Day.
She said:
"I feel honoured to have represented and lifted for women on International Women’s Day and to show just how powerful women truly are.
"As I love to say “every dream needs a team” and I truly have the best! You know who you all are and I couldn’t be more grateful to you all and I definitely wouldn’t be here without you all!"
Lottie will next compete in the women's up to 61kg lightweight category on the opening day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on 24th July.
