Mother Shipton Inn celebrates successful reopening

Mother Shipton Inn has now reopened under new ownership.

One of Knaresborough's best-known pubs has celebrated its reopening following a major refurbishment.

The Mother Shipton Inn at Low Bridge officially reopened under new management last Thursday (27th August) after a £250,000 refurbishment funded jointly with owner Admiral Taverns.

The work included new fixtures and fittings, an upgraded kitchen and improvements to the pub’s lighting and signage.

Its outdoor area beside the River Nidd now has space for up to 100 customers.

Manager Matt Chapman is aiming to establish the Mother Shipton Inn as a dog and family-friendly community pub, with regular entertainment and events.

A weekly quiz takes place every Thursday from 7pm, while the food menu includes pub classics such as fish and chips, steak and ale pie and lasagne.

The pub also raised money for Knaresborough Foodbank as part of its reopening celebrations.

A spokesperson said:

“A huge thank you to the Knaresborough community for showing up and showing us so much support. We genuinely couldn’t be more grateful.

“The last couple of months have been non-stop, but every late night, long day and bit of hard work was completely worth it for a night like that.

“We’re officially ready for all your events, bookings and those last-minute beer garden trips with friends!"
