21st Century Abba and Queen and Paradox Orchestra entertained audiences at Conyngham Hall in Knaresborough last weekend.
More than 1,000 people attend outdoor concerts in Knaresborough North Yorkshire Council has been "overwhelmed" by the support for its two outdoor concerts in Knaresborough over the weekend. The concerts were held at Conyngham Hall and saw performances from tribute acts 21st Century Abba and 21st Century Queen on Friday (1st September) and Paradox Orchestra on Saturday (2nd September). And it has been revealed that more than 1,300 people turned out across the two events.
Tim Dabell, Event Management Officer for Parks and Environmental Services at North Yorkshire Council, said:
[caption id="attachment_78259" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] 21st century Abba on stage at Conyngham Hall on Friday.[/caption] Organised by Chapterhouse Theatre Company, Friday's concert saw 21st Century ABBA and Queen perform a thrilling selection of some of the pop and rock world’s greatest hits. This was followed by Paradox Orchestra's celebration of 50 years of Pink Floyd's music, performed by a live string orchestra by candlelight. Tim added:“We are overwhelmed by the success of the two concerts.
"People are already asking when we are going to be hosting events again at Conyngham Hall in 2024 - so watch this space!"
“We are already planning more concerts for next year as it is an amazing location to host such events.
“We also looking to link up with local community groups so everyone can benefit from this unique event space.
“Customers have said it was the best concert Knaresborough has ever seen!”
These commercial events help North Yorkshire Council to provide free children's entertainment over the summer months such as the pop-up parties that were hugely popular in Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon.
