The Mayor of Ripon has met with North Yorkshire Police to discuss concerns over anti-social behaviour, illegal e-bike use and suspected drug dealing in the city.
The meeting took place last week between Ripon's Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant and Cllr Andrew Williams following concerns raised by local residents.
Police say they are actively investigating the reported issues and are working alongside partner agencies to identify offenders, disrupt criminal activity and tackle the concerns affecting the community.
As part of the response, officers have increased patrols in Ripon, are carrying out targeted enforcement activity and are working with partner organisations to address crime and anti-social behaviour.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“We understand the impact these issues have on residents, businesses, and visitors, and we want the community to know that these concerns are being taken seriously.”
The force is also urging members of the public to continue reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour and any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police by calling 101, reporting online or calling 999 in an emergency.
