Harrogate-based charity Essential Needs has teamed up with school pupils from across the district to create new permanent art displays in celebration of the charity’s 30th anniversary.
Having supported over 12,000 people and families across the district who are in furniture poverty over three decades, in a bid to brighten the exterior of its premises behind the Leeds Road shops at Back Gladstone Street, Essential Needs approached primary schools across the district for help.
Pupils aged four through to 11 from Coppice Valley, Knaresborough St John’s, St Robert’s, Western and Willow Tree Primary School rose to the challenge in their hundreds, designing their dream homes in a sea of seasonal themes and colours.
Lee Wright, Manager at Essential Needs said:
“We want to say a massive thank you to all the pupils who took the time to submit their dream home designs for our 30th anniversary art competition.
"Selecting the winners to appear on the permanent displays was tough as there were so many outstanding entries.
"Now they’re up for all the community to see, it truly makes the team and I proud every time we walk down the street,”
Essential Needs is located behind Leeds Road shops at Back Gladstone Street, Harrogate, HG2 8DF and contactable on 01423 870040 and essentialneeds@gmail.com
