A Knaresborough community initiative is once again preparing to provide free Christmas Day dinners to people in need.
The Knaresborough Christmas Day Dinner was first launched in 2018 by local resident Bruce Reid MBE, with the inaugural event held at the town’s fire station.
Since then, the project has taken place annually at a variety of venues, continuing to support individuals and families who may be struggling during the festive period.

This year, the event will be held at The Hub on Vicarage Lane from 1pm following a successful fundraising campaign.
At the time of publication, £1,590 has been raised, exceeding the original £1,200 fundraising target.
JustGiving campaign organiser Helen Fearne said:
“We are an ever-expanding team of people who just want to make sure that anyone who wants a Christmas Dinner in the Knaresborough area gets to have one.
“Thank you for helping us help those less fortunate this year.”
In addition to the sit-down meal, food and gifts will also be delivered on Christmas Day to those who are unable to attend the event in person.
Organisers say the initiative relies on community support, donations and volunteers, with the team continuing to grow each year.
