The Great Knaresborough Christmas Tree Festival returns this weekend for a 10th year.
The event is back from Saturday 7th until Sunday 22nd December and organisers are expecting a bumper display of over 80 trees, as well as the spectacular centrepiece display on the theme of the well-known carol ‘Good King Wenceslas’.
Early bird visitors can avoid the crowds by attending the Preview Evening at 7pm on Friday (6th December) when the festival will be formally opened by the Right Reverend Bishop of Ripon.
Entrance to the Preview Evening is £5 per person, which includes refreshments.
Seasonal music will be provided by St John’s renowned choir, conducted by none other than the Knaresborough Town Crier.
There will also be live entertainment from local choirs and music groups on all three Saturdays of the festival; not forgetting the ever-popular Christmas Tree Festival Concert on Sunday 8th December by St John’s Choir, and featuring Cadenza, Fun2Sing and special guest, local musician and artist, Paul Mirfin, aka ‘the singing conductor’.
Admission is payable on the door and doors open at 6.30pm, with the concert at 7pm.

Christmas Tree Festival
The festival will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturdays; 12 noon until 4pm on Sundays; and 12 noon until 5pm on weekdays, with refreshments and mulled wine available at the weekends.
Admission to the festival is free, but there will be programmes and raffle tickets on sale and all donations will be gratefully received and assist the church in supporting its chosen charities.
Visitors to the festival over the first weekend can also enjoy the magical Knaresborough Christmas Market with its fabulous fireworks finale.
