Killinghall artist Steph Hayes will be hosting her own art exhibition next weekend.
The 'Meet the Artist' exhibiton will be held on Thursday 5th September.
The exhibition will be held for 2 months and will feature a wide range of her work, showcasing her signature vibrant abstracts to more detailed pieces.
Her work adopts an immersive and meditative approach.
Texture is built through a variety of materials, oils and acrylics mediums, emblematic of spirituality, space and emotion.
This year is the first year Steph has gone full-time with her art.
She said:
"This exhibition is particularly special to me as it’s this year that I decided to take the plunge and go full-time on my art.
"At the start of the year, I was made redundant from my job and found myself out of employment with a small child to look after.
"This really is a ‘now or never’ moment for me and I’ve put a lot on the line to make this work."
She added:
"I’m building my reputation and getting great traction now, I’m not doubting my decision to dive into making a full-time living from my art.
"It was totally the right decision."
Steph hopes that by showcasing her art it will encourage others in our community to explore their creativity and appreciate the diverse artistic expressions our town has to offer.
The show is thanks to Major Toms Social Club owner, Lee Bellwood who replied to Steph's request to showcase her art with nothing in return.
The exhibition will begin at 7pm on Thursday 5th September and will run for two hours.
