Police have launched an appeal after thousands of pounds worth of Asian gold jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Harrogate last month.

Unknown offenders forced entry to a property on Crab Lane in Harrogate.

They went on to search the house before leaving with approximately £20,000 worth of Asian gold jewellery.

The burglary is believed to have taken place at some point between Saturday 27th September and Friday 10th October 2025.

The stolen jewellery includes

  • A necklace which was red in colour with a gold centre
  • Several thin gold chains
  • A gold chain with diamonds on the bottom
  • A necklace with green beads and gold in the centre
  • Four gold rings, four gold earrings, two diamond rings, two gold bangles and some silver jewellery.
  • A number of pandora rings and bracelets were also taken.

Police are now asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has been offered the items for sale to get in contact.

Additionally, officers would like to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage which may help the investigation.

PC Conor Taylor from North Yorkshire Police said:

“If you do keep valuable jewellery or large amounts of cash in your home, please take steps to secure it properly.

“A burglar who is determined will search high and low for your treasured possessions.

“As the nights now start to draw in earlier I would also urge people to take measures to protect their homes and property.

“You can find simple steps on the North Yorkshire Police website or by speaking with an officer.”
