Humanitarian aid charity Yorkshire Aid Convoy is set for its 11th visit to Ukraine to support a 5-day care home refurbishment project.
19 local volunteers and 6 trucks of aid and supplies will be setting off from Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham at 1pm on Wednesday 26th March.
The 3,000-mile round trip is the 11th for the charity since the war started.
The care home accommodates over 40 elderly people who have lost their homes due to the conflict beyond the front line.
Many of the residents arrived with only the clothes they could carry and are now living in overcrowded conditions, with five or six people per room.

The care home has just one bathroom downstairs, and all the residents are challenged with mixed disabilities and all living areas are upstairs, making it extremely difficult to navigate and live comfortably and safely.
The Yorkshire Aid Convoy and its volunteers are giving the entire building a refurbishment, complete with fully equipped new bedrooms, bathrooms, a stairlift, and an upgraded kitchen and laundry area.
Local businesses including John Cotton, Apollo Blinds, JLA, Dulux, Triton Showers, Q4 Bathrooms, Heat Pump Tech, GH Brookes, Howdens, Handicare Stairlifts, GNG Mattresses, Essential Healthcare Solutions, Crispin, Nixon Hire, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate, and Zinsser UK, have all donated materials to help bring this project to life.
The total value of all the humanitarian aid and renovation work across the five-day convoy is totalling over a quarter of a million pounds.
The Yorkshire Aid Convoy is funded purely by charitable donations.
If you’d like to support the vital work of the volunteers, donations can be made through their website here: https://www.yorkshireaidconvoy.co.uk/donate/.
