The Henshaws Festive Showcase will return to Ripon Cathedral on Monday 24th November 2025, following a successful debut last year.
The event will start at 6.45pm and aims to raise funds for Henshaws, which supports children, young people and adults with sight loss and other disabilities across Yorkshire.
The evening will feature music, poetry and traditional carols.
Performers will include Leo Hicks, the Harrogate Spa Town Ukes, Yorkshire Voices Choir and the Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre Makaton Choir, who received a warm response at last year’s event.
The showcase will be hosted by Dave Steele, known as the “Blind Poet.”
He will also perform his poetry, following his recent appearance on the BBC programme Our Lives – The Film I’ll Never See. Attendees will be invited to take part in festive singing, and refreshments such as mulled wine and mince pies will be available.
A raffle will also take place with prizes donated by local businesses.
Funds raised will support Henshaws’ services and community programmes.
The event’s title sponsor for 2025 is Ison Harrison Solicitors.
Flora Simpson, Fundraising Development Manager at Henshaws, said:
“We are over the moon to be back with this fabulous event.
"The atmosphere last year was nothing short of magical, and there wasn’t a dry eye when our Makaton Choir performed.
"This year, we’re hoping it will be even bigger and raise a phenomenal amount for Henshaws, while bringing the community together for a night of festive celebration.”
