A Harrogate woman has won a national title at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show.
Harrogate home care manager, Carla Hainsworth, and her horse Darrowby Ajax picked up the SEIB Search for a Star Show Cob of the Year.
Carla had qualified for the show in July after a competition in Carlisle.
She competed on 10th October at the Birmingham NEC before being announced as the winner.
Carla said:
“Just qualifying for Horse of the Year Show was a complete shock.
“Never in a million years did I think we would come away with winning the SEIB Show Cob of the Year 2024!”

In her role as Registered Branch Manager at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate, Carla has overall responsibility for the services delivered by the Harrogate home care provider.
To fit around her busy day job, she has been preparing her horse Darrowby Ajax, aka ‘Murphy’, on early mornings and evenings.
She said:
“I work full time supporting my team and clients at Carefound Home Care and thoroughly enjoy coming to work every day.
“We are all very passionate about what we do, and I am proud to be able to make a difference in our local community.”
Carla added:
“The team at Carefound Home Care in Harrogate have been extremely supportive and even our clients have been keen to know how I had got on at the Horse of the Year Show.
“It’s so nice to feel part of a team and that we take genuine interest in each other’s interests outside of work.”
