More than 900 people came together for Harrogate's Race for Life yesterday, raising more than £62,000 for life-saving cancer research.
Participants completed 3k, 5k and 10k routes as they walked, jogged and ran around the Stray in support of Cancer Research UK.
The charity says more donations are still expected, meaning the fundraising total is set to rise further.
A spokesperson for Cancer Research UK said:
"This fundraising can make a real, lasting difference and help funds research not only in the UK but right here in Yorkshire."
The money raised will help fund research across the UK, including work currently taking place in Leeds.
Researchers led by Dr Ann Henry are investigating new ways to personalise treatment for prostate cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes.
The team is analysing samples from patients taking part in the POINTER-PC trial, with the aim of identifying biological markers that could help doctors predict how well radiotherapy will work and what side effects patients may experience.
