Harrogate law firm LCF Law has raised more than £10,000 for Saint Michael's Hospice through its continued support of the charity's annual 'Make a Will Month' campaign.
Since 2014, LCF Law’s personal law team has participated in the initiative by donating its professional will-writing services in return for charitable contributions.
These funds directly support the hospice’s mission to provide expert end-of-life care to people living with terminal illness and their families across the Harrogate district.
The initiative also highlights the growing importance of legacy giving, with gifts left in wills funding care for one in three Saint Michael’s patients.
LCF Law has played a key role in encouraging greater awareness of this option, helping the hospice to secure sustainable income for its essential services.
Hana Gwyn, personal law partner at LCF Law, said:
“We are proud to have supported Saint Michael’s Hospice for more than a decade through Make a Will Month, and we are delighted that our efforts have now raised over £10,000.
"The hospice provides exceptional care for patients and families at an incredibly challenging time, and we consider it a privilege to contribute our expertise to such a vital cause.
"We also thank our clients for their generosity in supporting the campaign and, in many cases, choosing to remember the hospice in their wills.”
A spokesperson from Saint Michael’s Hospice added:
“LCF Law’s long-standing support has been invaluable, both in terms of financial contributions and in raising awareness of the impact of legacy giving.
"Over the years, their team’s commitment has generated significant funds that have directly helped local families facing terminal illness.
"Partnerships like these are essential to the success of Make a Will Month, ensuring that more people can access expert legal advice while supporting the services that we offer.”
Hana added:
“This £10,000 milestone underscores the value of sustained collaboration between the professional services sector and the voluntary sector.
"This longstanding partnership also reflects our broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and enables us to make a positive impact on our local community.”
The next ‘Make a Will Month’ will take place in March 2026. Contact Hana Gwyn on 01423 502 211 or email hgwyn@lcf.co.uk for more details.
