The headteacher of Rossett School in Harrogate is reminding parents to apply for secondary school places ahead of the deadline on October 31st.
Tim Milburn has been in the role since May 2023 and is a former pupil of this Red Kite Learning Trust school.
He said he fully understands what a “huge decision” it is for parents across the Harrogate district when selecting their child’s secondary school.
Rossett welcomed 300 families to their open day last month and have held numerous school tours in recent weeks.
And Tim hopes that Rossett is very much on the minds of those who have attended.
As we approach the deadline for secondary school applications, Tim spoke about how Rossett School has used the their recent open mornings to help families make their choice.
He said:
“We haven’t done anything different actually, we’ve just opened our doors as any normal school day would be.
“But I would like to say a big thank you to all our staff, because they have been brilliant throughout this first half term in welcoming parents.
“We just made the school a place where families can feel welcome and get a real taste of day-to-day life at Rossett School and we’ve had lots of parents going away very happy, and wondering if they’re going to get a place next year!”
If you are interested to apply for a school place for your child at Rossett and would like to find out more about the school or have a look around, contact the reception team on 01423 564444 or Sarah Daly, the Associate Headteacher at Rossett School via admissions@rossettschool.co.uk.
