Harrogate girl creates snake with painted rocks to raise money for dementia A 7-year-old girl from Bilton has created a ‘snake’ made of painted rocks in the hope of raising money for Dementia UK. Amelie Bush has created ‘Jake the Snake’ using collected rocks at Bolton Viaduct that she has painted. And the charitable youngster has vowed to donate 50p of her own birthday money for every rock that is added before she turns 8 on 14th March. Amelie has chosen to support Dementia UK in memory of her late great grandmother who suffered with the disease. Alongside the snake is a note from Amelie that reads:
“This is Jake the Bilton snake. He’s just a baby so he wants to grow. “Please can you add painted stones so he can get bigger. Every stone he gets I will give 50p of my birthday money to charity.”Jake the Snake has already started to grow with more than 50 stones now on display. And an online fundraising page to support the campaign has already raised £177. To contribute towards Amelie's Jake the Snake campaign, find the JustGiving page here.
