A number of festive community initiatives have been branded a "resounding success" thanks to the generosity of local sponsors.
Enchantica’s, the creators of immersive, educational theatre and magical events for all ages, runs a community fund that is supported by local businesses, organisations, and individual donations.
This fund is dedicated to spreading holiday cheer through innovative, inclusive programming.
And thanks to support from the community, it’s been able to deliver:
- The Green Elf Project: An educational theatre show teaching local schoolchildren about sustainability, particularly during the Christmas season.
- VIP Christmas Lunches and Entertainment for the Elderly: Special festive gatherings to combat loneliness during the holidays.
- Funded Performances for The Unity Charity: Supporting families and individuals in need.
- The beloved Christmas Community Entertainment Programme for the Harrogate Christmas Fayre.
Suzie, Enchantica’s Director, said:
“We are both delighted and overwhelmed with the support we’ve received this year, with all donations, no matter how big or small, contributing to our 2024 festive activities in the Harrogate community.”

This year, local schoolchildren have been able to go along and learn about recycling at Christmas.
Three full shows for The Unity have brought Christmas cheer to vulnerable families and those with children with additional needs.
Over 300 local performers, from children to elderly community members, have had a chance to shine in the town centre, with entertainment from choirs, community acts, and individuals who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to perform.
Enchantica’s has thanked the sponsors who have “made this magic possible”, including Specsavers, Kempston Parkes, Hindson and Collier, Verity Frearson, Myrings, One Nine Signs, Red House Gallery, David Lloyd, Thompsons, Transdev and Cedar Court Hotel.
Suzie added:
“Their support has been instrumental in helping us spread joy, creativity, and inclusion throughout the Harrogate community.
“We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and belief in the power of magic to bring people together!
“We were also delighted to welcome some of our sponsors to Elf Village recently to have a look around, see what they’ve been contributing to and to meet Father Christmas too!”

The Christmas Community Fund is still taking donations, with any surplus to be carried over to next year’s community festivities.
