Harewood Bridge closure postponed due to Storm Babet The planned closure of Harewood Bridge on the A61 this evening has been postponed. The bridge on Harewood Road was due to close to allow for specialist surface work, with a 20-mile diversion in place. Work which wasn't completed during the previous closure was due to be carried out. However due to the impending heavy rain brought by Storm Babet, the closure has been put on hold. A spokesperson for Leeds City Council told Your Harrogate:
"The planned specialist surface treatment to Harewood Bridge and closure of the bridge has been postponed, due to Storm Babet and heavy rain.Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here."For the works to happen, conditions must be absolutely dry for the period of treatment to the road surface.
"Alternative arrangements are being looked into by the contractor about how we carry out this work with wetter and possibly unpredictable weather ahead."
