Calls for urgent repairs to potholes near Knaresborough

A local election candidate has called for urgent repairs to potholes on two roads near Knaresborough.

Tyler Reeton, the Conservative candidate for the Knaresborough East division in the 2027 North Yorkshire Council election, has reported several potholes on Forest Moor Road and Thistle Hill Road.

Mr Reeton, who is from Calcutt, said problems on the two roads had remained unresolved despite years of discussion.

He said:

“It’s all been too commonplace to see multiple potholes on Thistle Hill Road and Forest Moor Road not fixed after years of discussion.

“So today, I’ve done what I can to help and reported the potholes along both roads to North Yorkshire Council, while also making clear the need for urgent repairs to these roads as soon as possible.”

Mr Reeton said he would publish reference numbers for issues he reports so residents can monitor their progress.

The report covering Forest Moor Road and Thistle Hill Road has been logged under reference HW-RC11999.

He has also invited residents to contact him with details of other potholes or highways problems in the area.

Mr Reeton was recently selected to contest Knaresborough East for the Conservatives in May 2027.

The division is currently represented on North Yorkshire Council by Liberal Democrat councillor Hannah Gostlow.
