A village near Harrogate has been recognised as one of the 'poshest' places to live in the country, according to new research.
Follifoot has been included in the list of 49, compiled by The Telegraph as part of its 2026 property guide.
The Telegraph highlights the village as a “tranquil, picturesque” location, noting its rural surroundings and proximity to Harrogate.
Average property prices in Follifoot currently stand at £810,432.
A spokesperson for The Telegraph said:
“We’ve based the picks on a combination of the highest house prices, a lively community, a thriving village hall, great pubs, local shops and sporting facilities – aspects that make a great village.
“We also took into account other factors, such as whether the location sits in a bucolic setting, has an interesting heritage, and whether it ticks the boxes of the classic village, with a green, duck pond and perhaps thatched cottages.”
According to The Telegraph, the village is situated around five miles south of Harrogate and includes a Church of England primary school, a combined shop and post office, a Victorian church and a traditional pub, The Harewood Arms.
Nearby amenities add to the village’s appeal, including Rudding Park hotel and spa.
Local property expert Andrew Beadnall, of Beadnall Copley, said:
“It’s not been spoilt at all. But the Harrogate southern bypass now skirts the village, taking you to Leeds and York, and Pannal railway station is down the hill for trains to Leeds and London.”
