Earlier fireworks and live music planned for Your Harrogate Stray Bonfire

The annual Your Harrogate Stray Bonfire and Fireworks attracts thousands of visitors.

Harrogate's Stray Bonfire returns next weekend with an earlier fireworks display and a headline performance from UK Foo Fighters.

The Your Harrogate Stray Bonfire, organised by Harrogate Round Table, will take place on Oatlands Stray, opposite Oatlands Drive, on Saturday 7th November.

The free-entry event has been organised by Round Table volunteers for more than 50 years, with Your Harrogate returning as headline sponsor.

Entertainment begins at 5pm with music hosted by Your Harrogate, featuring DJ Mark Green and live performances from Joe Morley & Biz Denton.

The bonfire will be lit at 6:30pm before the charity fireworks display at the new, earlier time of 7pm.

Harrogate’s UK Foo Fighters will then take to the stage at 7:25pm, with the evening continuing until 9pm.

Food and drink will be available throughout the event, including hot food and drinks from Harrogate and Nidderdale District Scouts. All profits from their stall will support local Scout adventures.

Cold Bath Brewing Co. will serve draught beer from its vintage 1961 Citroën H van, while other options include salt and pepper chicken, wood-fired pizza, ice cream, fruit crumble and custard, and fresh doughnuts.

This year’s event will also feature temporary toilets and a dedicated Changing Places accessibility unit, funded by Harrogate Town Council.

Track matting will provide wheelchair access onto the Stray field.

A new Harrogate Mumbler Welfare Hub will offer warm seating, blankets, free water, phone charging and a safe meeting point for families.

Organisers are encouraging visitors to donate through cash buckets and contactless card readers.

Donations will help cover event costs, with all net proceeds supporting Mind in Harrogate District and Samaritans Harrogate.

Visitors are advised to wear wellies and warm clothing and bring torches and children’s ear defenders.

Waterproof ponchos will also be available to buy.

Organisers say there will be no parking near the Stray, while Dragon Road Car Park will be closed for exhibitions.

People are encouraged to walk or use Harrogate Bus Company routes 1, 7 or 36 where possible.

Town-centre on-street parking is free after 6pm.
