US President Donald Trump is among the celebrities rumoured to be interested in the purchase of the Ripley Castle Estate.
The 14-century country house is currently on the market for £21million - the first time it has been listed in 700 years.
Current owners Sir Thomas and Lady Ingilby have already downsized to a five-bedroom house in the village.
The entirety of the estate is for sale, including 188 acres of woodland, a cricket ground, a hotel and pub, a car park, a village store and a gift shop.
And among the celebrities rumoured to be interested are US President Donald Trump, as well as music superstar Taylor Swift.
Lady Ingilby told ITV Calendar:
“Donald Trump has been rumoured but I thought he was quite busy - but now that he’s actually in office, he’s more than welcome!
“There’s a helipad… Come and have a look!”
“My granddaughter’s favourite [rumour] is Taylor Swift. I love Taylor Swift so I’d be very happy with that.”
Sir Thomas added:
“She’d make an excellent neighbour!”
The building is listed online as a 14th Century Grade l listed building, depicting three different styles of architecture in which the castle was constructed over a period of almost 500 years.
The Ripley Castle Estate has been home to many community events over the years including lakeside concerts, classic car rallies and the Ripley Agricultural Show.
