Rudding Park will once again be hosting the Firecracker Ball this year - one of one of the most prestigious charity events in the Yorkshire calendar.

The Firecracker Ball will take place on Saturday 11th November to raise invaluable funds for Barnardo's - a children's charity that protects and supports children and young people in the UK. This prestigious black tie event is widely regarded as the 'must attend' event of the Yorkshire social season. Following a successful return last year in which it raised £210,000, this year's theme will see see guests transport to the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi - the set of iconic film 'Mamma Mia.' The headline act will be Rick Parfitt Jnr. As the son of the late Rick Parfitt of Status Quo, Rick is described as a "fireball of energy" on stage. [caption id="attachment_73381" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Rick Parfitt Jnr will be this year's headline act.[/caption] His band, The RPJ Band, features talented musicians with a diverse touring and recording history, having worked with artists ranging from Robbie Williams to Lily Allen and James Morrison. Speaking about performing at The Firecracker Ball, Rick said:
“I’m excited to be performing at The Firecracker Ball, and being part of an event that raises a significant amount of money for Barnardo’s every year. "It’s brilliant and I can’t wait to bring the fun, energy and downright rock ‘n’ roll show you will ever see at any event.”Chair of the Firecracker Ball committee, Mark Nelson, said:
“We’re thrilled to have Rick joining us for this year’s Firecracker Ball celebrations. "I’m sure his presence, combined with the Mamma Mia theme and the magical way our team will bring it to life for our guests, will ensure this year will be as spectacular as ever.”Now in its twenty second year supporting Barnardo’s, the prestigious event which raises considerable funds for causes across Yorkshire will be hosted by author and former presenter for both BBC and ITV, Jon Hammond.
