As they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, the pair received a letter from the King to commemorate their special day.
Brenda and Peter Laurie grew up in Penrith in Cumbria where they met when they were just 14 and 17 years old at an annual fair on the bumper cars.
Peter afterward, cycled around her village, asking locals where she lived so he could see her again, the rest is history.
They got married on 26th September 1964 at the parish church of Great Salkeld and moved to Harrogate in 1983.
They are now happily parents to 2 daughters and grandparents to 4 grandchildren.
Brenda and Peter were delighted by their letter from King Charles and Queen Camilla and celebrated with an evening meal out and they will continue their celebrations at the weekend with family.
