Nineteen community groups across the Harrogate district have received a share of £89,005 from THE LOCAL FUND.
The grants will help support more than 1,500 people through projects tackling isolation, improving wellbeing and helping those facing difficult circumstances.
Recipients include organisations working with older people, families, refugees, people living with disabilities and those experiencing homelessness.
Among them is Holding Space, which received £5,000 to deliver two eight-week creative wellbeing projects for vulnerable women and people experiencing homelessness.
St Mark’s Church in Harrogate was awarded £500 to provide Mental Health First Aid training for two team members.
Orb Community Arts will use its funding for monthly cooking and healthy-eating sessions led by Season Well, using affordable ingredients sourced through Orb’s Garden and Resurrected Bites.

"This funding will help us continue bringing people together through our cooking and healthy eating sessions, helping local people build confidence, learn new skills and connect with others in their community.”
For the first time, the fund also offered Organisational Development Grants to help charities improve their leadership, governance and long-term planning.
Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation received support to develop its school-based mentoring and wellbeing work, which combines mentoring conversations with football activities.
Sporting Influence Foundation will use its grant to strengthen its leadership, systems and partnerships, including developing a strategic plan and improving how it measures its impact.
Other recipients include Aphasia Support, The Principle Trust, Dancing for Wellbeing, Boroughbridge Community Charity, Emerging Voices, The Village Harrogate and Lifeline Harrogate.

Now in its ninth year, THE LOCAL FUND has awarded more than £490,000 through 182 grants.
It is delivered by North Yorkshire Council, Harrogate & District Community Action and Two Ridings Community Foundation, continuing a legacy of the former Harrogate Borough Council.
Alongside local donations, the fund receives at least 10p from every THE LOCAL LOTTO ticket sold.
An event in November will bring together grant recipients, partners and supporters to celebrate nine years of funding.
