Sir Gareth Southgate will be among the guests at this year’s Martin House Children’s Hospice Glitter Ball, as the charity prepares for one of its biggest fundraising nights of the year.
The Glitter Ball 2026 takes place at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate on Friday 16 October, bringing supporters together for an evening of entertainment, fundraising and celebration.
Hosted by Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood, the night will include a three-course dinner, live entertainment, fundraising games and an online auction before guests take to the dancefloor.
Martin House ambassador Sir Gareth Southgate will also be attending the event, which this year aims to build on the success of the 2025 Glitter Ball.
Last year, supporters helped raise an incredible £212,000 - enough to fund two clinical nurse specialists for two whole years - with thousands of pounds also generated through the event’s online auction.
Money raised this year will help Martin House continue providing specialist palliative care and support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire.
Each year, the charity supports more than 550 children and young people, providing care at its hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in families’ own homes.
Its services include planned short breaks, symptom management, emergency care and end-of-life care, as well as support for the wider family.
Providing this specialist care costs Martin House around £13 million every year, with the majority coming from voluntary donations and fundraising.
People who are unable to attend the Glitter Ball can still support Martin House through its online auction, with a range of prizes available to bid on, as well as an exclusive prize draw.
