Harrogate Homeless Project launches 35th anniversary appeal

Harrogate Homeless Project has launched its '35 Years of Hope' campaign.

Harrogate Homeless Project has launched a year-long fundraising campaign to mark its 35th anniversary.

The charity’s ‘35 Years of Hope’ campaign is inviting residents, businesses and community groups to support its work with people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Founded in 1991, HHP provides accommodation, wellbeing services, employability support and opportunities for people to rebuild their lives.

Supporters are being encouraged to donate, take on a fundraising challenge, attend an event or help raise awareness of the charity’s work.

Richard Cooper, Chief Executive of Harrogate Homeless Project, said:

“For 35 years our community has come together to provide hope, support and opportunity for people facing homelessness and hardship.

“It is natural when you celebrate an anniversary to look back on what has been achieved.

"More importantly though, we are looking ahead and want as many people as possible to help us as we offer the most vulnerable in society new hope of a better life.”

The campaign features in HHP’s newly released autumn newsletter, which reflects on the charity’s history and looks ahead as demand for its services continues to grow.

It also includes details of the ‘35 Acts of Hope’ fundraising challenge and upcoming events, including the Big Harrogate Sleepout, HHP Santa Dash, Festive Afternoon Tea and Christmas Cracker Ball.

A new text donation service has also been introduced as part of the appeal.

Supporters can text 35HHP to 70490 to donate £10 and opt into further communications from the charity.

Those who would prefer not to receive further communications can text 35HHPNOINFO to the same number.
