Household Waste Recycling Centres across North Yorkshire – including those in Harrogate – moved to their winter opening hours today (Wednesday).
The sites will now be open daily from 8:30am to 4pm, with the exception of Wednesdays, when they are closed.
They will also remain closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
The seasonal change in hours is introduced every year to reflect shorter daylight hours during the winter months.
Normal summer hours are expected to resume in spring.
Residents are encouraged to check details for their nearest centre, including accepted materials and site-specific information, on the North Yorkshire Council website.
