Bettys Harlow Carr to temporarily close for refurbishment

Betty's in RHS Harlow Carr.

Bettys Café Tea Rooms at RHS Garden Harlow Carr will temporarily close next week as the popular destination undergoes a refresh.

The café and shop will close from Monday 7th September, with Bettys expected to reopen on Monday 5th October with a new look.

RHS Garden Harlow Carr will remain open as usual throughout the refurbishment, with visitors able to use a range of alternative food and drink options across the garden.

Bettys says the work will create a refreshed café experience while retaining the warm welcome the Yorkshire institution is known for.

When it reopens in October, visitors can expect a relaxed new look, the full freshly prepared menu and views across the gardens.

A new Bettys To Go Window will also launch at the entrance to RHS Garden Harlow Carr, allowing visitors to pick up picnic essentials before heading into the gardens.

Table bookings will also be available at Bettys Harlow Carr, making it easier for visitors to plan their day, particularly families visiting later in the afternoon.

Liz Thwaite, Head of Site at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, said:

“We know Bettys is a much-loved part of a visit to the garden, and we’re excited to welcome guests back to a refreshed café this autumn.”

She added that the garden would remain open throughout the work, with additional catering and refreshment options available.

Nicky Sellers, Branch Director at Bettys, said:

“We’re excited to be investing in Bettys Harlow Carr and creating an even more welcoming experience for our customers.

“The café tea rooms are a very special part of a visit to RHS Garden Harlow Carr, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in early October.”

During the closure, Bettys fans can still visit the Bettys Harrogate branch or order favourites online.
